Appeal for witnesses to affray

Hello Resident,

We are appealing for witnesses to an affray that may have involved weapons on Cowley Road.

Multiple people, some armed with a crowbar and a chain, were involved in the fight near Manzil Way between 6.30-7.15pm on Wednesday 22 July.

We arrested a 25-year-old man from Oxford on suspicion of affray, criminal damage and common assault, and a 24-year-old man from Oxford on suspicion of affray and threatening someone with an offensive weapon in public. 

Both men required hospital treatment for serious injuries but were discharged before going to our custody, where they were later released on police bail while our enquiries continue.

We also seized a crowbar and a chain from the scene.
